1822 Chiswick Press edition

Singer, S. W. (Samuel Weller), ed.  The Poems of Geoffrey Chaucer.  London:  Chiswick: From the Press of C. Whittingham, 1822.  Part of the series, The British Poets, including Translations.  In One Hundred Volumes.  This set contains the Tyrwhitt edition with minor modifications (probably by Singer).  The frontispiece by Thomas Stothard and engraved by J.H. Robinson contains a small, modified version on the plinth of the image of Chaucer of Stothard’s large engraving of the Canterbury Pilgrims completed just five years earlier in 1817.
