1872 ?-A Thousand and One Gems of Poetry

Mackay, Charles, ed.  A Thousand and One Gems of Poetry. Selected and Arranged.  Illustrated by M. E. Millais, Sir John Gilbert, John Tenniel, Birket Foster, and others.  London and New York: George Routledge and Sons, circa 1872.

This edition contains 538 pages.  It is not the more common, A Thousand and One Gems of English Poetry containing 602 pages.  It contains five short excerpts in translation.  The image does not seem to have anything to do with any of Chaucer’s texts.
